“The function of the artist is to make people like life better than they have before”
Alto Gallery Home is situated in Bologna (Italy), via Regnoli no. 4, just a 15 minute walk from the two towers ‘Due Torri’, in the old town.
We have set it up to reflect our hobbies: painting for Alfredo, who uses the pseudonym al.to. (his paintings decorate the walls of the rooms) and my love for art, in all its various guises.
My name is Paola, and I organize congresses and events and now together with Alfredo we have finally made our dream come true: welcoming people wherever they may come from and showing them the surprises of the city of Bologna.
Just one day is not enough to see all of it: from the Portico, the longest arcade in the world, to the great square alluded to in a famous Lucio Dalla song, then the underground waterway which can be seen through a little window in the centre… Bologna captivates you because it has preserved its mediaeval character within a dynamic context, tailored for its citizens.
Our apartment is on the third floor of a modern building, with access by lift. The building is in the historical district known as the Cirenaica, just a short walk from the university site and the S.Orsola-Malpighi Hospital.
The apartment was completely refurbished in 2021 and includes 3 separate double bedrooms, each with private bathroom. Two of the bedrooms (Ficus and Garden) have a furnished balcony overlooking the city’s green spaces.
